SmartElex RLS05 Line Follower Sensor
Overview
The SmartElex RLS05 Line Follower Sensor is a multi-channel infrared (IR) line detection module designed for accurate line tracking in robotics systems.
Uses IR transmitter'receiver pairs
Detects contrast between black and white surfaces
Provides both analog and digital outputs
Designed for line follower robots and automation systems
Commonly used in robot navigation and path tracking
Working Principle
Based on reflection of infrared light:
White surface reflects IR light
Black surface absorbs IR light
Each sensor pair:
Emits IR light
Measures reflected signal
Difference in reflection determines line prese5 IR sensor channels (array type)
Each channel:
Independent detection
Has its own indicator LED
Enables detection of:
Line position
Edges and curves
Output Characteristics
Dual Output Type
Analog Output (5 channels)
Provides intensity of reflected light
Digital Output (5 channels)
HIGH/LOW depending on threshold
