Overview

The SmartElex Hall Sensor is a module based on the Hall effect, used to detect magnetic fields.

  • Detects:

    • Presence of a magnetic field

    • Strength (in analog versions)

     

  • Provides:

    • Digital and/or analog output

     

 

It is a non-contact sensor, widely used for position, speed, and proximity detection involving magnets.

Working Principle

Hall Effect

  • When a current flows through a conductor/semiconductor

  • And a magnetic field is applied perpendicular to it

  • A voltage is generated across the material (Hall voltage)

 

This voltage is proportional to the magnetic field strength.

Magnetic field from external magnet interacts with it
