What this sensor is

The RP-C10-LT Force Sensitive Resistor (FSR) is a thin, flexible pressure sensor that detects force or touch intensity.

In simple words: It works like a pressure-sensitive button (but analog)

Working Principle

  • It is a resistive sensor

  • When you apply force:

    • Resistance decreases

    • Output voltage changes

More force = lower resistance

It behaves like a variable resistor controlled by pressure

Key Specifications

  • Force Range: 20g to 3kg

  • Type: Analog (resistance-based)

  • Thickness: ~0.30.4 mm (very thin)

  • Operating Temp: -40C to +85C

  • Idle Resistance: >10M

Lifetime: >1 million presses

Pinout

Very simple (2 terminals):

  • Pin 1 VCC (through resistor divider)

  • Pin 2 Analog input (A0)

Needs a voltage divider circuit to work with Arduino

Applications

  • otics grip)

  • Smart seating / weight detection

  • Pressure-sensitive buttons

  • Wearables (shoe pressure, posture)

  • DIY touch interfaces

Special Features

  • Ultra-thin & flexible

  • Fast response

  • Low power consumption

  • Easy to integrate

Important Notes (VERY IMPORTANT)

1. Not highly accurate

  • Good for relative force, not exact measurement

  • Not for precise weighing

2. Non-linear response

  • Requires calibration for better results

3. Sensitive to placement

  • Force must be applied on active area only
