Magnetic Float Sensor FSH01 (Horizontal)
🧠 What Is It?
A liquid level detection sensor used to detect presence or absence of liquid.
Designed for horizontal mounting on the side of tanks or containers.
Works using a magnetic float and reed switch mechanism.
🔍 Key Features
Horizontal Mount Design (side installation)
Simple ON/OFF Output (digital switching)
No Power Required for sensing (passive switch)
Compact & Durable
Works with water and many liquids
Long mechanical life
📊 Technical Specifications
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | Magnetic float + reed switch |
| Mounting | Horizontal (side mount) |
| Max Voltage | ~100 V DC / AC |
| Max Current | ~0.5 A |
| Contact Type | Normally Open (NO) / Normally Closed (NC)* |
| Operating Temperature | –10°C to +85°C |
| Material | Plastic (PP or Nylon) |
| Cable Length | Typically ~30 cm |
📌 State can often be reversed by flipping the float.
⚙️ How It Works
The sensor contains a float with a magnet inside.
Inside the stem is a reed switch.
When liquid level rises:
Float moves → magnet approaches reed switch.
The reed switch opens or closes (ON/OFF signal).
🔌 Electrical Connection
Two wires (no polarity)
Acts like a simple switch
📌 With microcontroller:
Connect one wire → GND
Other → digital input with pull-up resistor
🧠 Working Behavior
No Liquid / Low Level → Switch OFF (or ON depending on orientation)
Liquid Present → Switch ON (or OFF)
📌 You can reverse behavior by flipping the float.
📌 Applications
Water level detection (tanks, reservoirs)
Automatic pump control systems
Overflow protection systems
Industrial liquid monitoring
Aquarium water level sensing
Smart irrigation systems
⚠️ Important Notes
Only Detects Level (Not Continuous Measurement)
Mechanical Movement Required (not for very viscous liquids)
Avoid Strong Turbulence (may cause false triggering)
Check Liquid Compatibility (avoid corrosive chemicals)
Proper Sealing Needed during installation
